What the seven have in common

Different centuries, countries and budgets. The same five marks of documented contribution.

1. A named problem, with a baseline. Every story starts by counting what was going wrong before anything changed.

2. A specific change that someone else could copy. Five practices. Nineteen items. Skin to skin from birth.

3. An outcome measured the same way before and after, and reported even when the news was mixed.

4. Honest limits, stated next to the result, not buried beneath it.

5. A record that other people could read, check and build on. Without it, even Semmelweis was not believed.

These are the questions Evinca reviewers will ask of every Cohort 1 dossier. A small unit with all five can outscore a famous hospital with two.
